Brooke Stratton Flies the Flag – wins Silver after injuries

April 12th, 2018: Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast

The Australian women’s long jump record holder, Brooke Stratton, flies the Australian National Flag, after winning Silver at the Commonwealth Games at Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast. This was a courageous victory for Ms. Stratton, 24, from Melbourne, having returned after receiving fractures in both feet at the 2017 World Championships in London. At Carrara Stadium, she achieved 6.77 metres in her last jump, just missing out by 7 cm on Gold, which was taken by Canada’s Christabel Nettey. (Photograph source Getty Images)
